Cruise days

The part of the cruise before the ship.

Seattle is the home port for most Alaska cruises, and from late spring to early autumn the ride between Sea-Tac and the waterfront is one of the busiest in the city. Two terminals handle the ships: Bell Street Cruise Terminal at Pier 66, on the downtown waterfront, and Smith Cove Cruise Terminal at Pier 91, north of downtown near Magnolia. Your cruise documents name the terminal — check them, because the two are several miles apart.

On embarkation day we collect you at SEA, load the cruise luggage and drive directly to the terminal’s drop-off, where porters take the bags. On disembarkation day we meet you at the terminal and take you to the airport — or to a hotel if you are staying on. With a car booked, your only job is to be on the right flight.

Plan to arrive in Seattle the day before a sailing if you can; a delayed flight on sailing day is the one thing no transfer can fix. We are happy to collect you from your hotel instead — see downtown Seattle — and read our cruise-day guide.

How it works

Ship days, planned backwards.

01

Tell us the ship and the terminal. Pier 66 or Pier 91, plus your boarding window.

02

Airport or hotel pickup. We time the pickup for your boarding window and the drive at that hour.

03

Straight to the drop-off. Bags go to the porters; you go to check-in.

04

Book the return too. Disembarkation morning is busy — we meet you at the terminal for the ride to SEA.

Questions

Good to know.

Which terminal is my cruise leaving from?

It is printed on your cruise documents and boarding pass. Share it with us when you book — Pier 66 and Pier 91 are not interchangeable.

Is there room for cruise luggage?

A sedan fits two cruise-size suitcases plus carry-ons. For more, or for a family, we send a luxury SUV. See the fleet.

Can you take us from the ship straight to the airport?

Yes. We meet you at the terminal on disembarkation morning and drive to SEA; tell us your flight time so we plan a comfortable margin.

Is a pre-cruise hotel night a good idea?

Usually, yes — especially with a morning flight on sailing day. We can split the transfer: SEA to the hotel the day before, hotel to the pier on the day.

Also useful

The rest of the journey.

Most trips through SEA are more than one ride. These are the ones that usually travel together.
