Neighbourhood arrivals

Seattle beyond the towers.

Plenty of Seattle arrivals are not headed downtown at all. Returning residents, guests staying with family, short-term rentals and boutique hotels spread across the neighbourhoods — and an airport ride to a residential street is exactly where a private car beats a pickup queue.

Capitol Hill sits just east of downtown: independent restaurants, a livelier evening, and streets that are steep and parked tight. Queen Anne climbs above Seattle Center, with quiet residential streets on the top of the hill. Ballard, across the ship canal to the north-west, is the longest of the three drives — its route runs through or around downtown, then over the Ballard Bridge or along 15th Avenue.

Fremont, Wallingford, Green Lake and the University District are quoted on request and usually fall between the Queen Anne and Ballard fares. Your driver comes to the door, not the end of the block.

Residential arrivals.

01

Steep, narrow streets. On Capitol Hill and Queen Anne, tell us about stairs or a back entrance; we plan where the car stops.

02

Short-term rentals. Send the full address and any gate or lockbox note so the driver takes you to the right door.

03

North of the canal. Bridge openings on the ship canal occasionally add a few minutes to Ballard and Fremont rides.
